Five new pictures added to Links section

One of the new pictures is of me and Nathan at Perkins. I like this picture of us immensely. His absence makes me ache. He's such a good friend of mine. Someday, I'm going to go steal him from Oregon.

I had to work today. This girl at my work had been visited on a previous night by someone I have known since I was in first grade, but have lost touch with in the past few years. I didn't want to put her on the spot, so I waited until today to ask her how they met. She told me they met a few years ago, and had been dating for two year, but something happened, and they broke up. As she continued talking about their previous relationship and how it ended, I could see her misery grow, I wanted to stop her, but she wanted to let it out. She looked away and told herself "I'm not gonna cry, I've cried over this too much.. i'm not gonna cry." as a tear rolled down her cheek. I hugged her and did my best to console her, and she pulled herself together so that we could return to work. I've never known that kind of commitment. The kind that Kate and Pat had, the kind that Yvonne and Phil had.. in a way it makes me sad that I haven't been able to experience such love and devotion, but in another way, I'm glad, because I don't feel I'm ready for it.

Kate and I went to McDonalds for free kiddie cones and a table to work on homework at. We chose the bar-like one with swivel chairs. We worked not so diligently on our math and conversed. A guy who works there sat down next to us on his break and began to talk to us. He asked us random questions about school and what we want to be in the future. He thought he was old because he's 11 months older than I am. We enjoyed his conversation, so we wrote him a note and stuck it to his jacket when we went up to the counter to order Kate a cheeseburger. He didn't read it. It eventually fell off and one of his coworkers picked it up and read it with comments like "That's so cute!" We left as soon as possible. I'll bet he was teased all night. Sorry dude.

And now I sit here, yet again putting myself in a bad situation with work, chatting with Matt, and listening to the humming of the laptop.
